Gi or no gi?

We recognize that some members prefer training in the gi, others in no-gi, and many enjoy a mix of both. Our goal is to give everyone the freedom to train in the uniform that best fits their style and goals.

To provide structure and clarity, certain classes will be designated as Gi Preferred or No Gi Preferred. In these classes, the instructor will teach and demonstrate primarily using that uniform and its grips, strategies, and rulesets.

You are still welcome to attend in the other uniform. If you choose to do so, you’re responsible for adapting the techniques appropriately to what you’re wearing.

Our priority is to offer as much high-quality, accessible training as possible without letting uniform requirements limit scheduling, attendance, or coaching. This approach allows us to keep the room full, the training strong, and the curriculum flexible, while still giving structure to how each class is taught.

For Reverse Classroom and Open Mat, we encourage members to wear whatever uniform they prefer.
